nawaz sharifPakistan media on Friday reported that PM Nawaz Sharif has instructed interior minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali to send a team to India to assess the security arrangements in place for Pakistan’s national cricket team. The team is scheduled to play WorldT20 in India – a tournament scheduled to being from March 8.
The tournament has courted controversy particularly due to the March 19 clash between India and Pakistan in Dharamsala. The Himachal Pradesh state government has conveyed to the Board of Control for Cricket in India that it cannot guarantee security for the high voltage clash. CM Virbhadra Singh had also written a letter to the union home minister Rajnath Singh stating that his government cannot provide security for the match. He further had said that war veterans of the state did not want the Indo-Pak match to be held in Dharamsala.
