PM Nawaz won't return from London, Dr Asim claimsKARACHI – Alleged terror facilitator, former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain has claimed that Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif went to London to take care of Panama leaks issue and that he would not return, Dunya News reported Monday.

The former state minister passed these comments in a casual media talk in court premises before hearing.

Dr Asim said that politicians went on foreign tours to handle situation after Panama leaks.

PM Nawaz left for London on April 13 for his medical checkup, as told by the spokesperson of the PM House. The authorities concerned stated that the Prime Minister had postponed the visit several times earlier due to important commitments.

It was the first time when Prime Minister’s alleged heart condition was disclosed.

On Wednesday, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar had said that the Prime Minister would return soon. The prime minister had an intervention on his heart some years ago that went “terribly wrong,” Khan told reporters in Islamabad.

PM Nawaz has had heart condition since then, he added.

On Sunday, while talking to the media, the Prime Minister said that he would return soon as his health has improved.

PM Nawaz led an advisory meeting of the government at the Churchill Hotel. Nisar took part in the meeting while Advisor on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz was also summoned to attend the meeting later on.

Formation of a judicial commission to probe Panama leaks and the ongoing developments in the country were matters discussed during the meeting.

On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan was also on a visit to London. He had shared a flight with the Interior Minister. Reportedly, Khan had urged Nisar during the flight to ask the Prime Minister to resign over Panama leaks.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) members staged protest outside Jemima Khan, Imran’s ex-wife’s house in London. The demonstration prompted Khan to comment terming the protest an attempt to hide leaders corruption exposed in Panama leaks.

It should be noted here that after the Prime Minister left last week, several sections claimed that he had gone to meet former president and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.

Whereas Opposition Leader in the Senate Aitzaz Ahsan had asserted that PM Nawaz’s sole purpose of London visit was to meet Zardari however, he had recommended PPP leader to not meet the Prime Minister.
