Hafiz Saeed, 34 JuD members put on Exit Control List

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Chief of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), Hafiz Saeed among 35 leaders of the organization that was banned by United States (US) years ago have been put on Exit Control List (ECL) on Wednesday.

The development has come in after JuD chief was put under house arrest on January 30 (Monday).

Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) and passports of all 35 persons have been put on the block list.

Earlier this week, after Saeed was put under house arrest, supporters of the US-banned JuD threatened to lodge protests across the country and demanded the federal government to reverse the decision.

In a press conference following the development, Director General (DG) of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Major General Asif Ghafoor said that the action against JuD chief was taken solely by the government.

A media report earlier claimed that the government was warned before Donald J Trump assumed the office as President of the United States of America to take such action.
